California Dental Health care, Seeing a dentist without dental insurance.
California Dental Health care, Seeing a dentist without dental insurance. Can a person see a dentist for dental services if they do not currently have any dental insurance or dental benefits though their job. I have a friend that is very low income and can not afford dental insurance.
He been putting off his dental healthcare and is not suffering from an infection or abscess tooth and he is in a great deal of pain. Is there and ER for dental services? At least in the ER you still get treated whether or not you have insurance and then you worry about the bill after the fact. But it seems with dental you are out of luck. What can my friend do at this point.

Have your friend look into seeing if there are any dental clinics near him that he can go to. Dental clinics are normally lower cost. Or see if there are any dental schools that he can go to they too offer lower cost dental services.

In California there are many good low cost dental HMO insurance plans starting as low as $8.00 a month. Which is affordable and offers good benefits on dental care. I suggest him looking into getting an individual dental plan for his dental care. Many of these HMO plans offer free preventive dental care.
Otherwise going to a dental clinic and or dental school are also ways to get lower cost dental care. I heard that he may be able to get a tooth pulled at an ER but it would have to be life threatening. Other wise he may just get some pain killers and a very large bill
