Getting dental insurance for partials
Can I get dental insurance to fix some partials I have? I had my partials now for five years and they are just getting old and ill fitting. Will getting dental insurance help me either get new ones or at least fix the ones I currently have?

Since you had your old partials for five plus years you may be able to buy dental insurance and have coverage for new partials. However it is an underwriting question I would ask on a plan by plan basic.
Each dental insurance company has their own rule and guild lines. In order to know coverage and coverage amount for a new bridge you will need to know the ADA code when you call the insurance companies so it is a good idea to get that from the dentist before hand.

If you do not want to have to do all that work to confirm coverage for a new bridge buy a dental discount plan and get at least a 20 percent discounted saving off the cost of repair or replacement of a bridge.
One of the nice thing about a discount plan is that you are not having to worry about pre-existing or missing tooth clauses.

I had the same problem and got a PPO dental plan that was willing to offer me cover for a new bridge. However I still had to wait a year before the cover would be effective for major dental work.
I went ahead and waited but it was a pain so it may depend on if you are willing to wait out the waiting periods that some dental insurance plans have.
