Dental Insurance Plus – Supplemental Dental Insurance
Supplemental Dental Insurance, Needed in addition to my PPO dental plan
Question: Both my husband and I have our dental insurance though my husband job. They offer him a PPO plan that has a 1000.00 yearly max. In the past few years we have not needed more then the max limitation aloud in a year.
Now however I have an tooth that had an old filling that now needs to have a root canal and crown done. Along with another tooth that the dentist told me I should also have a root canal and a crown done.
Two root canals and two crowns are sure to go over my $1000 per year max limitation. Is there any Supplemental dental insurance plans I can get that will not have any waiting periods and which I can use to help me out with my dental cost?
Reply: There are dental PPO plans that do not have waiting periods however, the first year benefits still tend to be reduced so you would need to compare coverage’s and cost of the plan to see if it make sense to buy an additional plan and if you would really be saving money doing so. You may also want to look at plans that do offer a higher max limitation so you hopefully do not come up across this type of issue again.
